Where is Sheosar Lake located?

Sheosar lake is located in the Deosai Plains Skardu in the northern Pakistan. The lake is located some 35 kilometers south of the Skardu city. With an elevation of 13,589 feet, this lake is known as one of the highest lakes in the world. 

What can you enjoy at this spectacular landscape?

The landscape around the lake is one of the unique and mesmerizing landscapes around the world because at such heights it is rare to exist such vast and green carpeted surroundings around the lake. The lake is surrounded by hills around and the surrounding turns into a lush green garden like scenery where you can find dozens and dozen kinds of wildflowers. 

Another spectacular scene from this lake you can enjoy is the sight of the Nanga Parbat (9th highest peak in the world). The gleaming icy summit of the Nanga Parbat can be seen from this lake. 

How to reach here?

If you want to reach this spectacular lake you need to reach Gilgit-Baltistan. There are two ways to access the lake, one from Skardu and the other from Astore. Most people visit from Skardu side because Skardu is accessible via by air and the access from Skardu is easy. There are many options for stay in Skardu as well because it is the largest city in the region of Gilgit-Baltistan. 

The lake can be accessed from Astore valley as well via the Chilim valley.
