Maurizio and Susana met in 1998 in La Serena, Chile. After
living in various places, Maurizio found Susana in this beautiful
Chilean coastal city. They became friends for a year and later
decided to live together and moved to his hometown Santiago looking for a better job market..
They lived In the capital for 2 years. During that time they
needed to fill a void in their hearts and to share all the
affection that they accumulated. They chose to do so with a 4 legged"son".
During a year they looked for a yellow lab puppy, docile,
affectionate and just a little bit hippie, the ideal friend
for their life style.
The strategy was simple, to visit a few puppys until their hearts
told them they had found the ideal companion.
I was the biggest of my brothers, probably due to my
voracious apetite and my bad manners of stealing food from my other siblings.
The memories are distant, but I remember that I met them a day before Susana's
birthday . It was love at first sight, they fell
in love with my and I fell in love with their shoe laces.
I left my mom Canela "Cinammon" at the ripe young age of 40 days to undertake a life of adventures with my
new family.
Soon I realized what my new life style would be. I left my
birthplace in a motorcycle, with my small head poking out of a backpack
Although the motocycle engined scared mea little in the beginning, it became the sound that I recognized when my family came home every day. I grew up to like the noise.
Iwent camping for the first time in a trip of 6 days and 600 km, to the beaches and lakes near
Santiago. Tents are great, they are the perfect blend of a human and dog house, where the three of us shared experiences.
Soon I was being carried in a harness attached to my parent's for greater
security. At that time I weighed little but soon I became too big to get carried around.
The great city and its problems motivated my family to
embark in a great adventure. The plan: to travel
in bicycle from Santiago of Chile to the city of Mexico.
I,
of course, wanted to ensure that I was not left behind.
